Tinabo Island One Of Takabonerate Islands

Have you ever heard that island?

So do i at the first..

The island is very far from Jakarta and need a long time (seriously 'long time').

How to go?

First, you should go to Makassar (check the map below). It takes around 2 hours from Jakarta, last time i went there from Balikpapan and it took around 1 hour.

Flight from Balikpapan to Makassar

Indonesia
After that we already rent a car to Tanjung Bira (we got the contact from our guest house at Tanjung Bira). It takes around 5 hours ++ (I will post about Tanjung Bira in the next post). We stayed a night in Tanjung Bira.

Lunch after 1 hour from Makasar Airport

I don't know what kind of this tomato (?)

We went in the morning to Tanjung Bira Port at 08.00 ++ to Selayar Island (the ferry schedule in every 4 hours - i assumed :p -) and arrived at 10.00 ++..  The owner of the guest house help us to find 'angkot' (car) to the port (not very far, but when you bring your stuffs this is the good choice :p) and it took around 10-15 minutes.

Here some pictures in the port when i was waiting for the ferry :

The green, the blue, and the ship

Another side in the port

The signal is good enough here, see the BTS tower :p

Unused ship in the beach

The stones for abrasion - Bye Tanjung Bira

And the island is still far away..

We used travel agent, and the agent picked us at the Selayar Port. It took around 2 hours ++ to the another port in Selayar Island. After that we used a small ship to Tinabo Island (Takabonerate Islands) and it took around 5 hours ++ >.<..

We landed at Tinabo Island yeayyy!!! And it already at the night..

Could you imagine the way? Tired to the max for sure :p. I think we can go abroad easily rather than go to this place..

This is the map where is that island :

Tinabo Island Map

Imagine 5-6 hours see this landscape -bored :p-
The Takabonerate Map, where are we? :p

In the next morning and the half next day, we went to some island in Takabonerate Islands for snorkeling. And no map in google for that place :p.. Usually the captain used GPS for tracking the position..

Because we didn't bring any good camera for capturing inside the sea, so i just shared to you..

That i think Karimun Jawa has more fishes rather than this place (or maybe we went to wrong spot ?)..

The interesting things for me are the baby shark in front of the resort and the well in the sea. This well around 2-3 meters and need more than 1 hour to find the spot using GPS :p. A lot of fish here because the hot and cold water meet here.. (Karimun Jawa also have this place, near the beach with more fish)

We slept at Tinabo Island's Resort for 2 nights (no other resort just one, and it for less than 15 people).. And some houses, i thought for the islands guardian.. The food is so so there :) nothing delicious or special :)..

The electricity just in the night and also the signal come and go (just for Telk*ms*l).. But they have tv and complete channel :p (we can't see at the morning/afternoon/evening - no electricity)..

What did i find in the morning? Baby Sharks!!! :p

Excited in the morning at our

Zoom for the baby sharks - this baby shark is not dangerous (believe me, if they bite you, just bite them back :p)
I walked around and took some photos :

Left side from the port

The Port

Say hi to the sunrise :-D

Small crab in unknown island - i forgot the name for sure
Behind the Tinabo Island - no baby shark but good for taking picture :p

In my opinion, every beach have different energy and landscape.. And this was the sunset there :

Cool right ?

Actually this was the first time i saw this colors combinations

^-^

From the port - capture in every angle :p

the fisherman (?)

And yeah we should took our picture here!!! :p
Of course i should show you my own picture :p

This is the well, look some fish there :) - yeah you should be a good swimmer to go down

Jump ! Thanks to @tatrakuncara

deep of the sea :p
.......

And we should took the same way to back.. 5 hours by the ship to go back to Selayar Island and used a car for 1 hour to sleep at the Selayar City (called Benteng).. We arrived at 08.00 ++ and we woke up at 04.00 >.<.. We used a car (again) for 1 hour to Selayar Port and went back to Tanjung Bira at 06.00 by the ferry..

Next post Tanjung Bira :-D

Hi Dorothee,

I don't think you can go there easily because of the place too far.

I suggest you to go to Tanjung Bira (5 hours by land from Makassar Airport) and find information there :).

Last time i met a foreigner also go to around Tinabo Island for diving.

But if you want to go to Tinabo, you can go to Selayar Island by ferry near from Tanjung Bira for 2 hours.

And you can ask people about the island government staff there. Last time i went there with their staff also.
